MONSTER JAM 2011-PIT PARTY!!!!!!

On February 19, 2011 we went to our annual tradition on Monster Jam. This year we did something a little different.... if you buy tickets to the Saturday afternoon show, you can buy tickets for the Pit Party right before the show. It was awesome!!! We got to go down to the dirt floor, where they do all the driving and tricks, and see all of the monster trucks and drivers up close. My boys were in heaven! We were one of the first 15 people in so there were no lines and we got to see, talk and get autographs from every single driver that was competing that day. They were also able to climb up all of the dirt hills and see all of the crash cars. I think this will be a new tradition that we try and do every year from now on.

This is the Grave Digger. This is one of their most favorite monster trucks and they know everything about the truck and the main driver, Dennis Anderson. Unfortunately this driver is not Dennis Anderson, he is another driver on the team. He was so nice to our boys and signed thier pirate flags and their shirts since they were wearing Grave Digger t-shirts.

This is the Bounty Hunter truck. I don't know anything about the driver, but Gaven has not stopped talking about this guy since. As you can see, the driver lifted him up on his shoulder and he thought that was AWESOME!

This one is called Ground Pounder and I have never heard of this one. There are over 200 different monster trucks that are affiliated with Monster Jam, so I just can't keep up! Gage and Gaven really liked this one during the show because he did some pretty cool tricks!

This is El Toro Loco and is one of their favorites that they play with at home. I had to go to 10 different stores just to find this one for Gage's cake. Once they saw the comercial that he was coming, they had to mention it every day until we saw it.

This is Black Stallion and I have heard of him, but they haven't really been huge fans of this one yet. He did a good job in the racing part, so now he is one of their favorites.

This is Iron Warrior and he broke down in the first 5 minutes and had to stay out for the rest of the show.

This guy is actually local and his truck is called the Maverik Trakker. It was fun to talk to him because he told us a little bit about how he got into it and how much fun it was. Gage listened to every word because he wants to do this when he grows up. I guess we need to figure that out for him :)

I have never heard of this one and he didn't really do great in the competition. His name is Ice Monster. This driver was so nice and talked to Gaven for like 5 minutes about his truck and we could tell he loved being there and driving his truck.

I had so much fun at the Pit Party. These trucks are huge and really neat to look at. All the drivers were very nice and it made the actual show a lot more interesting to watch. At the end they have a freestyle section where they can do whatever tricks and jumps they want. There was a huge hill in the middle that all of them jumped off and both Bounty Hunter and Grave Digger tipped over and crashed. That was awesome, my kids were screaming like crazy and were so excited that they got to see that happen!
